Start from the full part number and decode it: capacity, organization, rank, interface/speed, voltage, temperature grade and package. Compare each field against candidate parts rather than relying on a vendor equivalent list.
Brands and grades to consider
China-based DRAM/NAND makers and module houses now cover mainstream DDR4/DDR5 and eMMC/UFS. Match the grade: commercial for consumer, industrial for harsh environments.
Risk and reliability checks
Validate boot/training, run endurance and temperature tests, and check long-term availability and PCN policy before qualifying a new source.
